New signing Yannick Bolasie vows to help Aston Villa return to Premier League

New signing Yannick Bolasie has vowed to do ‘everything’ to help Aston Villa return to the Premier League next season.

The 29-year-old joined the Goodison Park outfit in August 2016 but suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury four months after his arrival which ruled him out of action for 12 months.

However, the forward bounced back from the setback featuring in 16 league games as Sam Allardyce’s men finished in the eighth spot last season.

But with intense competition for place on the flanks after several summer signings, the winger completed a temporary switch to the Villa Park outfit.

And he has taken to the social media to show his excitement while thanking the Toffees fans for their support while he was sidelined.

“Happy to have joined Aston Villa for the season,” Bolasie posted on Instagram.

“Having spent a long time out injured recently it is vital I am playing games. I love this game and when I am out there playing, I am happiest.

“So as soon as Marco said it was my choice whether to stay or go - I decided to take on this challenge.

“I would like to thank the Everton fans for their support during my time out injured. To the Villa fans, I will give everything I’ve got to help the club get back to the Premier League - where it belongs!”

Bolasie could make his debut when Aston Villa take on Burton Albion in Tuesday’s League Cup game.
