Navas seeks to end Man Utd & Arsenal talk with Real Madrid contract vow

Keylor Navas has quashed Arsenal and Manchester United transfer talk by stating a desire to honour his contract at Real Madrid.

Amid ongoing speculation regarding Zinedine Zidane’s search for a new goalkeeper, the current No.1 at Santiago Bernabeu is being linked with a summer exit.

Were Real to complete a deal for long-standing targets such as David de Gea, Gianluigi Donnarumma or Thibaut Courtois, then Navas would be nudged down the pecking order.

Premier League suitors are said to be ready to open their doors to a proven performer if the Costa Rica international is forced towards the exits, but the 31-year-old is still planning for the long term in Spain.

Navas told beIN Sports when quizzed on his future: "I'm calm, I have two years left on my contract and I intend to fulfil them.

"People ask me if I'm leaving, but I'm only leaving to go home to my family."

Navas joined Real from Levante in the summer of 2014 and has made over 130 appearances for the club – helping them to La Liga and Champions League triumphs.

He has faced criticism at times, with the Blancos faithful making him the target of terrace taunts, but he has played his way through any troubles.

His value to the collective cause was highlighted again in his latest outing, as he helped to preserve a 1-1 draw with derby rivals Atletico Madrid.

Keylor Navas Real Madrid stay

That result has done little for Real’s domestic efforts this season, as they remain fourth in the table, but Navas insists a club chasing down a third successive European crown will continue to give their all over the remainder of the campaign.

He added: "We have to wait for the league season to end.

"It hasn't been an easy season, we'll have to see how far we can go.

"We've never given up at any time."
