Melbourne Victory's Asian Champions League clash with Sanfrecce Hiroshima on Wednesday night will see Carl Valeri, Keisuke Honda and Kevin Muscat all involved in their final matches for the club.

While Muscat and Valeri will farewell the club after long tenures, Honda has spent just one season with Victory.

Though the club failed to defend their A-League championship and finished third in the league during the Japanese star's stint, Muscat stressed Honda's time with the club had been significant on and off the pitch.

"We’ve played some of the best football that the club has played," Muscat said.

"Keisuke’s had a huge impact on the football club, his peers, the younger players and myself without a doubt.

"Listening to Keisuke’s answers, he’s a winner and his frame of mind is always positive. He’s applied himself in the right manner at every opportunity."

With Victory unable to escape their group, the match is an ideal chance for the trio to say goodbye - but don't expect Muscat nor Honda to show any sentimentality.

Both are desperate to farewell the club as winners against group leaders Sanfrecce, who claimed a 2-1 win in their reverse fixture.

"We’ve all got a job to do and a responsibility," Muscat said.

"I feel a responsibility to do my best and that’s what I’ll be asking of my players.

"Keisuke will be playing, Carl will be playing…I want to pick a strong as possible team. Everybody is available.

"It’s a responsibility of ours to try and perform to our best."
