Former Kakamega Homeboyz coach Mike Mururi has been confirmed as Vihiga United assistant coach.

The tactician quit his position after the conclusion of the first leg, with Paul Nkata taking his position few days later.

Goal understands Mururi has been given a two year contract with a promise of taking over the reigns if current coach Edward Manoa fails to meet set objectives. 

The promoted side is currently placed in the 12th position with 18 points after winning four games, drawn six and lost seven.

Reports have it that the team is on the verge of completing the transfer of striker Morven Otinya from Sofapaka.
