Micho has been heavily linked with a possible return to Bucs, and with Jonevret unsure of his future, anything can still happen in the next few days

Goal can exclusively reveal that Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevich will not be joining Egyptian giants Zamalek despite huge interest from the former African champions.

The 48-year-old officially left Ugandan national team on Saturday, and it emerged that there were six more clubs, including national teams, who are after his services.

However, a Goal source in Egypt confirmed that Orlando Pirates could now be in pole position to finalize their interest in the coach.

"Micho won't join Zamalek. This gives Orlando Pirates a good chance to finalize their interest," the source told Goal.

Meanwhile, Micho's possible return to the Sea Robbers has somewhat unsettled Kjell Jonevret, who was coy when asked about his future after the Carling Black Label Champion Cup match between his side and Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.

"I've worked in this business for long. I know exactly how it is. Sometimes they [club bosses] have the patience, and often they don't have. Orlando Pirates have had too many coaches in the last couple of years. It's difficult for me to say anything," Jonevret told the media after the game.

"I am a professional. We work hard everyday and we try to do our best. I am 100 percent sure that next season is going to be a much better season, but whether it's going to be with me or they have found a dream coach somewhere, then that's not up to me. I am pretty cool. We are trying to do the best we can everyday," said the Swedish mentor.

Reports emerged last week that Jonevret could be sacked soon after the pre-season match against Amakhosi, with Micho set to be announced as the new man at the helm on Monday, but nothing has been confirmed by the parties involved.
