Michael Essien was on target as Persib Bandung recorded a 3-1 victory over visiting PS TNI in an Indonesian Liga 1 clash on Saturday.
Raphael Maitimo got the curtain raiser for the hosts in the 16th minute. Five minutes later, the lead was doubled courtesy the Ghana international.
Maitimo grabbed his second of the game four minutes after the hour mark before Sansan Fauzi Husaeni got the consolatory goal for Ivan Kolev’s men.
Essien played for 85 minutes before he was replaced by Shohei Matsunaga.
The goal was the 34-year-old's third in 17 Indonesian topflight appearances for his side, placed 14th in the log with 24 points from 18 games.
