The Olukoya Boys will battle the Algerian outfit at the Agege Stadium, and the midfielder has revealed his side's ambition

Wilfred Ammeh says MFM FC is aiming for a big win over the MC Alger when they meet in Wednesday's Caf Champions League tie at the Agege Stadium.

Having edged past AS Real Bamako 2-1 on aggregate at the preliminary stage, Fidelis Ilechukwu's side recently slumped to a 2-1 defeat at Sunshine Stars.

Despite their domestic league defeat at the Akure Sports Complex, the former Niger Tornadoes is hoping they can put up a strong winning form against the 1976 winners.

"It is really a big match for us but we are well motivated and fully prepared for them [MC Alger]," Ammeh told Goal.

"We know they are a very tough team and fully aware of how they defeated their opponents [Otoho] from Congo 9-0 in their second leg at home.

"That victory is not scaring us at all in any way though because what has brought us this far in the competition is a sign that we are equally a good team."

"I believe in the quality and experience of our team would give us an edge against Alger. We have told ourselves about how important the game is," he continued.

"And we know playing against the Algerians would be always difficult but our target is to get a big win. It is possible as we are hoping to give our best in order to come out with a victorious."

A big win on Wednesday will hand the Olukoya Boys a first leg advantage over their visitors ahead of the second leg encounter in a fortnight in Algeria on Friday, March 16.
