Meddie Kagere elated after scoring another derby goal for Gor Mahia

Meddie Kagere scored his second goal in as many 'Mashemeji' derbies on Sunday at Nyayo Stadium.

His goal laid a foundation for Gor Mahia, who added two more courtesy of George Odhiambo and Timothy Otieno as AFC Leopards fell 3-0. Kagere says it is a special goal and a win against Ingwe is enough motivation for the former champions in the race for league title.

"Who will not want to score? Every player wishes to have his name in the score sheet when playing in a derby. It is a special goal because it also gives us the bragging rights. Everything is down to hard work and team work, that is what led to our win," Kagere told Goal.

"It is a big motivation to us, as we aim at winning the league this season. Definitely it is not going to be easy but we will give our best."

Second placed Gor Mahia will be at home against Chemelil Sugar in their next assignment.
