Mathare United defender Samuel Olwande pumped up for Gor Mahia clash

Samuel Olwande believes that Mathare United will pick at least a point from champions Gor Mahia on Sunday.

The ‘Slum Boys’ need the remaining six points up for grabs to keep their hopes of a top-eight finish.

Even though Gor Mahia will be crowned the league champions irrespective of the outcome of the clash to be staged in Kisumu, Olwade is upbeat that Mathare United can follow in the footsteps of Thika United, Ulinzi Stars and Vihiga United by picking at least a point from K’Ogalo.

“I think we can win because the morale is very high at the moment. It will be a very tough match but from the way we’ve been playing recently, I don’t think we’ll go back home without a point."

Mathare United was the only team to have picked maximum points from the Kenyan champions in both legs last season.

The two sides settled for a 2-2 draw in the first leg staged on April 29 at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
