Ghana Special Competition Matchday four preview: Kotoko out to consolidate lead as Hearts hope to make amends

Six of the eight originally scheduled matches will be played when the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalisation Committee Special Competition enters matchday four on Wednesday.

While the Zone A game between Stallions FC (formerly Wa All Stars) and Eleven Wonders has been rescheduled, the Zone B fixture between Inter Allies and Dreams FC has been set for Thursday.

In Zone A on Wednesday, Kotoko will hope to make it two wins on the spin when they host Ashanti Gold in a top-of-the-table clash at Kumasi's Baba Yara Sports Stadium. The Porcupines currently hold the lead in the zone while the Miners sit second.

Elsewhere, Bechem United, two points adrift Kotoko and one below Ashgold, want to put themselves in good position to capitalise on any slip-up by the top two by beating Medeama away in Tarkwa. The Yellow and Mauves, meanwhile, are fifth on the table.

Fourth-placed Aduana Stars have so far won one, drawn one and lost the last of three games played. Away at the Golden City Park, the Fire Boys seek to increase their win tally when they square off against Berekum Chelsea, who sit second from bottom on the table.

In Zone B, sixth-placed Hearts of Oak have it all to do against Ebusua Dwarfs, having lost their last two games. The Crabs, meanwhile, occupy the bottom position after losing all three matches played.

Emmanuel Addo, one of three players tied at the top of the top scorers' chart with three goals each, will hope to extend his tally when his Liberty Professionals outfit play Elmina Sharks at the Nduom Sports Stadium.

At Sogakope, the other two men on two goals - Kingsford Opoku Frimpong and Diawisie Taylor - will battle each other when third-placed Wafa host leaders Karela United.
