Wekundu wa Msimbazi will head into the game unbeaten in the last 22 games

Simba SC will play host to Mbeya City in a Premier League match set to be held at the Benjamini Mkapa National Stadium on Thursday.

Simba won 1-0 in the first game back in November last year at the Sokoine Stadium, Mbeya.

Wekundu wa Msimbazi will head into the game with their 1-0 triumph over Mtibwa Sugar on Monday still fresh on their minds, the win helped them extend their unbeaten record to 22 games.

Mbeya City who are unbeaten in the last five games, they were held by Azam FC to a goalless draw last Sunday and they will be hoping to accumulate more points in order to ensure their safety.

With eight matches remaining, Simba lead the table with 52 points, four above their arch rivals Yanga in the second while Mbeya City sit eighth on the table only six points above the danger zone.

Simba under Frenchman, Pierre Lechantre will be boosted by the return of Erasto Nyoni, Juuko Murshid and James Kotei who were suspended for last game. The return of the trio will help Simba’s squad depth in every department of the field.

Meanwhile, Mbeya City will be without their influential left full-back Hassan Mwasapili who is suspended and John Kabanda who is injured.

Speaking to Goal, Mbeya City head coach Burundian, Ramadhan Nswazurimo said that they will be without their key figures in the starting line-up but it will not affect them because they have a big squad so they will replace them with other good players.

“It is not good to be without your key players in the starting line-up, however we have a lot of players to cover their place,” said Nswazurimo.

Asked about the game, Nswazurimo replied that the game is important for each team, so football fans should expect a good show because every team wants to win.
