Lozano goal for Mexico snaps 563 minute World Cup streak for Germany

Germany are not in this position often. 

After 35 minutes of their Group F opened against Mexico, the defending World Cup champions found themselves trailing 1-0. 

It was Hirving "Chucky" Lozano who put El Tri in front , finishing off a lightening-quick counter-attack from Juan Carlos Osorio's side to punish the Germans.

It closed a run of 563 World Cup minutes in which Germany had not trailed in a match. 

The last time Low's side found themselves in the hole was against Ghana in the Group stage of the 2014 competition. 

The Germans worked out a 2-2 draw in that match before cruising through much of the rest of the tournament on their way to the title. 

But it shows just how hard it is to come from behind in a World Cup. 

In fact, the last time Germany trailed in a World Cup game and went on to victory was 20 years ago in France, in a round of 16 match against Mexico. 

Germany were not able to repeat that result on Sunday, with Mexico holding on to grab a 1-0 win in the Group F opener.
