Everton looked to send Tosun back to Besiktas


Everton recently attempted to send Cenk Tosun on loan back to Besiktas, according to Fotospor.

The Turkish outfit could not agree terms on a deal for the 29-year-old in the most recent transfer window, but could return for the striker in January.

Tosun spent three and a half seasons with Besiktas before Everton landed him in January 2018. 

Al-Hilal make offer for Lodeiro


Al-Hilal have made an offer for Seattle Sounders star Nicolas Lodeiro, according to Raisa Simplicio.

The Saudi side are keen on the 31-year-old Uruguayan, who has been one of the best players in MLS since joining Seattle in 2016.

Arteta's 'conscience is calm' after axing Ozil


Mikel Arteta says his "conscience is calm" following his decision to omit Mesut Ozil from his 25-man squad for the Premier League.

Ozil hit out at Arsenal after the decision, saying on Wednesday: “As I have just found out, loyalty is hard to come by nowadays.”

But Arteta insists he has been clear with the playmaker, whose last appearance for the Gunners was in March.

Brighton place £50m price tag on Liverpool target White


Brighton will demand at least £50 million ($66m) for Ben White should Liverpool move for the defender in January, reports The Sun.

The Reds are in desperate need of defensive help following the serious knee injury suffered by Virgil van Dijk at the weekend.

But the Seagulls will not allow White to leave on the cheap as Liverpool are linked with a move for the 23-year-old.

Liverpool make €75m offer for Koulibaly


The Reds are looking for cover after Virgil van Dijk's injury

Liverpool have made a bid of up to €75 million (£68m/$89m) for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to Fabio Santini. 

Speaking on Italian TV station 7 Gold, Santini claimed the Reds are ready to match Napoli's valuation of the 29-year-old after Virgil van Dijk's injury.

"I have sensational news about Kalidou Koulibaly," Santini said. "Manchester City and United are in for the Senegalese defender as well as PSG.

"The club that is most serious about the Senegalese is Liverpool. The Reds have offered a figure between €70m-€75m, the sum that [Napoli owner Aurelio] De Laurentiis wants."

Villa yet to discuss making Barkley's loan deal permanent


Aston Villa have yet to speak with Chelsea about making Ross Barkley's loan permanent, according to manager Dean Smith.

Barkley has impressed during his short time with Villa, scoring two goals including a late winner against Leicester at the weekend.

"It's nothing that has been talked about, our discussions were only for the end of the season," Smith said about extending Barkley's time with the club.

Evans wants to extend Leicester deal


joJonny Evans has said he wants to extend his contract at Leicester City, which ends after the current season.

The 32-year-old has been a key figure at the King Power Stadium since joining from West Brom for £3.5 million deal in June 2018.

"I have really enjoyed my time here," Evans told the BBC.

"There's been nothing formal in terms of contract talks but if we can come to an agreement I'm sure it won't be a problem and it will be sorted soon."

Welbeck turned down lucrative Turkey offer


Danny Welbeck turned down a major offer from Turkey to stay in the Premier League with Brighton, according to The Sun.

The 29-year-old was a free agent after leaving Watford and joined the Seagulls on a one-year deal.

Welbeck rejected an offer of £140,000 per week from a Turkish club, believed to be Fenerbahce, to stay in England.

Bayern Munich are the latest team linked with Denis Zakaria, reports Bild.

The midfielder has been a target of both Manchester United and Chelsea and has a contract that runs through 2022.

He has yet to play this season, though, due to injury. 

Woodward defends Man Utd's transfer activity


wEd Woodward has defended Manchester United's transfer activity, saying that the club has spent more than any other major European side in the past year.

It was announced on Wednesday that Man Utd's overall debt rose to £474 million ($621m), but Woodward defended his team's spending as well as the players that spending brought in.

Lodeiro has led the club to two MLS Cup titles and has been a regular for the club since joining in 2016.

Borussia Dortmund will revive their interest in Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen in 2021 - according to Calcio Mercato.

The German outfit submitted a loan offer for the 28-year-old in the summer transfer window, but were knocked back in their approach.

However, Dortmund are prepared to return for Eriksen when the market reopens in January as Lucien Favre looks to inject a creative spark into his line up.

Tottenham planning to terminate Rose's contract


Tottenham are planning to terminate Danny Rose's contract by mutual consent - according to Football Insider.

Spurs want to reduce their wage bill by getting the 30-year-old off their books, having sent him out on loan to Newcastle for the second half of the 2019-20 season.

Rose hasn't seen a single minute of action for Tottenham this term, and was left out of Jose Mourinho's 25-man Europa League squad.

Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland favours a move to Real Madrid over Manchester United - according to ABC.

The Norwegian striker, whose £65 million ($85m) release clause will become active in 2022, is eager to play alongside fellow countryman Martin Odegaard at Santiago Bernabeu.

United are still interested in signing Haaland after a failed January pursuit, but he would prefer to embark on the next chapter of his career in Spain.

Tottenham may send Gedson Fernandes back to Benfica in January - according to A Bola.

The 21-year-old joined Spurs on an 18-month loan deal in the winter transfer window, but has struggled for regular minutes under Jose Mourinho.

Fernandes has yet to feature for Tottenham in the Premier League this season, with his only outing coming in an EFL Cup win over Chelsea.

Man Utd considering Lautaro swoop


Manchester United are considering a swoop for Inter's Lautaro Martinez next summer - according to Don Balon.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have also been linked with the Argentine, but the Red Devils could join the race for his signature in 2021.

Lautaro has scored three goals in four Serie A appearances for Inter at the start of the new season.

Liverpool's Woodburn open to long Blackpool stay


Liverpool's 21-year-old attacker Ben Woodburn has kept the door open for a long stay with loan side Blackpool.

The Wales international told the press: “Liverpool have just told me to go out on loan, express myself and see how I do. When I go back, we’ll go from there.

“As an international it’s vital I play. [Wales boss] Ryan Giggs likes players who are playing week in, week out. If I can do that at Blackpool, it will help me on the international side.

“The move to Blackpool happened pretty fast, so Liverpool haven’t said too much about what might happen when my loan ends. We haven’t had the discussion yet.

“I’d definitely be open to staying longer, though. I’ve enjoyed my first couple of days so I don’t see why not, especially if we’re doing well – then I’d love to stay.”

Barcelona announce contract renewals


Barcelona have confirmed that Gerard Pique, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Frenkie de Jong and Clement Lenglet have all signed contract extensions with the club.

The Blaugrana announced the deals immediately after their 2020-21 Champions League opener on Tuesday, with Ronald Koeman's men cruising to a 5-1 win over Ferencvaros.

Pique was sent off in the second half against the Hungarian side but following the match, the veteran defender saw his contract extended through 2024.

King ready to fire despite failed Premier League return


Bournemouth striker Josh King is ready to deliver for the club despite not securing a return to the Premier League. 

King was linked with strong interest from West Ham but a move failed to happened with Cherries manager Jason Tindall expecting King to react positively to his situation.

"Once the window shuts, I think you can either be disappointed, sulk and handle it in that way, or you can come back with motivation, fire in your belly to go and do well and prove to everyone what a good footballer you are," Tindall said. 

"That’s certainly where Josh is. We had a good chat yesterday, he knows he’s here and is itching to show everyone what a good player he is and to score goals in the Championship."
