Leeds target Dinamo midfielder Majer


Leeds United have identified Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Lovro Majer as a transfer target - according to Calcio Mercato.

Valencia, Borussia Dortmund, Fiorentina and Sevilla have also been linked with Majer, who has been compared to Croatia captain Luka Modric.

Leeds may try to compete with those clubs for Majer in January, despite the fact he still has three years to run on his current contract at Dinamo.

Manchester City are tracking Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres - according to Fabrizio Romano.

Pep Guardiola may look to bring in the 23-year-old to complete his defence in January, having signed Nathan Ake and Ruben Dias from Bournemouth and Benfica respectively over the summer.

Torres, who has also been linked with Manchester United, has featured in all six of Villarreal's La Liga games at the start of the new season.

Barca tried to loan out Fernandes in summer window


Barcelona tried to loan out Matheus Fernandes in the summer transfer window - according to SPORT.

Ronald Koeman seems to have no place for the 22-year-old in his squad, and has promoted several Barca B players to the senior squad ahead of him.

Fernandes was earmarked for a temporary move away from Camp Nou before the start of the new season, but a final deal never came to fruition.

Burnley set sights on ex-Liverpool striker Borini


Burnley have set their sights on ex-Liverpool striker Fabio Borini - according to Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Italian has been a free agent since leaving Hellas Verona at the end of the 2019-20 campaign.

Watford and Swansea are also interested in Borini, but Burnley can offer him the chance to return to the Premier League.

Madrid consider recalling Ceballos early


Real Madrid are considering cutting Dani Ceballos' loan at Arsenal short - according to Don Balon.

The Spanish midfielder has just started the second year of his loan spell at Emirates Stadium, but the Blancos may bring him back to Santiago Bernabeu in January.

Madrid have started the season poorly and might look to Ceballos in the new year as they try to find low-cost solutions to strengthen the squad.

Besic hoping for Everton exit


Muhamed Besic is hoping to have found a new club by the time the January transfer window opens, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The 28-year-old, who has been linked with Rangers, was not named in the Toffees' final 25-man Premier League squad.

He has spent most of the last three seasons out on loan, with spells at Middlesbrough and Sheffield United.

Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli says star defender Kalidou Koulibaly has always made clear he is happy at the club.

He said: "Koulibaly is happyhere , he always said he would've stayed with no problems or difficulties and that is what he did."

Sporting CP teenager Joelson Fernandes is the subject of interest from Juventus - according to Calcio Mercato.

Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona and Ajax are also tracking the 17-year-old, who has been dubbed the new Cristiano Ronaldo.

Juventus are also considering a swoop for Fernandes when the transfer window reopens in January.

Arsenal are eager to re-sign Donyell Malen from PSV Eindhoven - as reports.

The 21-year-old winger made his way through the Gunners youth ranks before joining PSV in 2017.

Arsenal would like to bring him back to Emirates Stadium, but Juventus are also interested in his services.

Reguilon: Deciding to move to Spurs was simple


Sergio Reguilon has reflected on his summer switch to Tottenham despite alleged interest from Manchester United, insisting it was a "simple" decision when Jose Mourinho came calling.

He told Sky Sports: "There was a broad market but as soon as I heard of Tottenham's interest, it was simple.

"It was a big deal to leave my country, my league and my family, but it has worked out well.

"Since I arrived here, the truth is the club has surprised me in a very good way. The training facilities, my team-mates, everything. The stadium is insane. I have really enjoyed it so far."

Parker adamant Seri can still have Fulham future


Scott Parker has claimed that Jean Michael Seri could still have a future at Fulham despite leaving him out of his 25-man Premier League squad.

The Ivory Coast international was the club's record signing following his switch from Nice back in 2018 although struggled to make an impact with the Cottagers and spent the 2019-20 season on loan at Galatasaray.

He has now been left out of Parker's 25-man squad and is therefore unable to feature in England's top flight for now, although the Fulham boss insists he's not "dead and buried" at the club despite the omission.

Reds would have to spend big to land centre-back

Brighton will ask Liverpool to pay a fee of £50 million ($66m) if they want to land centre-back Ben White, claims the Sun.

The Reds are apparently in the market for a centre-back following Virgil van Dijk's ACL injury and were reportedly keen on a deal for White in the summer.

It's unlikely Jurgen Klopp's side will pursue a move for the former Leeds United loan star in January, however, with the German looking to add a more experienced defender to his ranks.

Leicester are looking into a possible deal for former Newcastle winger Florian Thauvin, reports The Mercury.

Everton reveal what they paid for £80m-rated Calvert-Lewin


Dominic Calvert-Lewin sparked talk of interest from Manchester United over the summer, with reports of £80 million ($105m) price tags doing the rounds , and David Unsworth has revealed that Everton snapped the in-form striker up for “a lot less” than £1.5m in August 2016.

Unsworth told Sky Sports: "I can assure you it was nowhere near the amount of money that people bandied about! I won't say the exact fee but it was a lot less than what you just quoted."

Both Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are contemplating trying to sign Sergio Ramos, according to Fabrizio Romano via the Here We Go podcast. 

The defender's current contract with Real Madrid expires next year leaving the door open for other clubs to potentially lure him away for next season. 

Ramos is reportedly keen to remain where he is but a big offer from Juventus or PSG could well throw a spanner in the works.

I don’t think there is any rush at the moment, there is nobody whose time is running out that we are desperate to chase to put pen-to-paper," Gerrard was quoted by The Scotsman

Maitland-Niles reveals how Arteta convinced him to stay at Arsenal


Ainsley Maitland-Niles says Mikel Arteta convinced him to stay at Arsenal after making him realise he was not yet showing his full potential.

The 23-year-old was the subject of intense transfer speculation throughout the summer, with Wolves submitting an offer in excess of £20 million ($26m) for the Arsenal academy product.

Arteta was always adamant he wanted Maitland-Niles to stay, however, and pointed to the fact that he started him in both the FA Cup semi-final and final as an example of his faith in the youngster - but that did not stop the speculation and for a time it looked like a move to Wolves was a real possibility.
