Eddie Howe is eager to bring Kieran Trippier to Newcastle in January - according to The Mirror.

The new Magpies boss thinks the 31-year-old's experience can help them pull clear of the relegation zone.

Trippier has also been linked with Manchester United, but it remains to be seen whether Atletico will let him leave in the new year.

Ryan Sessegnon has denied seeking a move away from Tottenham amid a lack of regular minutes.

The 21-year-old joined Spurs from Fulham in 2019 but has since been restricted to just 15 appearances for the club, leading to question marks over his future.

Sessegnon remains fully committed to Tottenham, though, as he told a press conference: "That never crossed my mind [to leave]. I knew I would have to go out on loan which I did and played a few games and came back with a lot of confidence but the injury happened again. But never did it cross my mind that I would have to leave the club.

"Of course, it has been very tough, everyone knows that. People very close to me know how much it affected me a little bit, but in terms of confidence, I think that is behind me now."

The 26-year-old has been strongly linked with Barcelona and has admitted that he would be open to a move to Spain.

Juve have identified the 19-year-old as a primary target as he approaches the final 18 months of his contract at Johan Cruyff ArenA.

Calciomercato reports that the 26-year-old's agent had a meeting with the Rossoneri last week, but the player's demands of a €3.5 million salary, with €1m in bonuses, exceeds what the club are willing to pay.
