Cagliari close in on Olsen


Cagliari hope to complete the signing of goalkeeper Robin Olsen from Roma on Friday, according to Gianluca Di Marzo.

The Sweden international is expected in Sardinia in the morning to sign a season-long loan deal.

Olsen has fallen down the pecking order at Roma following the summer arrival of Pau Lopez from Real Betis.

Elneny on verge of Besiktas move


Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny is close to joining Besiktas on loan before Monday's European transfer deadline.

Brugge agree deal with Spurs for Wanyama


Club Brugge have agreed a £12 million ($14.6m) deal with Tottenham for midfielder Victor Wanyama, reports Sky Sports.

The 28-year-old has yet to feature for Mauricio Pochettino's side this season and is expected to leave before Monday's European transfer deadline.

Wanyama has made 93 appearances for Tottenham since joining from Southampton in 2016.

Barcelona refuse to give up hope over Neymar


The two clubs will talk right up to the deadline

Barcelona have refused to admit defeat in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar, with club spokesman Guillermo Amor saying they will see how talks proceed through to the transfer deadline.

PSG, who signed Neymar from Barca in 2017 for €222 million (£201m/$245m), have admitted they are willing to let their star go, but have insisted a strong offer is required to force their hand.

Monaco confirm Zagre deal


Monaco have signed 17-year-old French left-back Arthur Zagre from Paris Saint-Germain on a three-year deal.

Sanchez drops exit hint


Alexis Sanchez could be edging closer to a Manchester United departure after posting a good luck message to the Red Devils on social media.

The Chile forward, who is set to join Inter on loan, also posted a picture of himself and his United teammates alongside his message.

Man Utd keen to offload Darmian


Manchester United hope to sell Matteo Darmian before the European transfer deadline, reports BBC Sport.

The Red Devils have received an inquiry from an unnamed club for the Italy defender, who joined from Torino four years ago.

Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling could also leave Old Trafford before Monday's deadline.

Dembele refuses Barca exit


Ousmane Dembele is refusing to move as part of Barcelona's deal to sign Neymar from PSG, report GloboEsporte.

Other players have apparently been offered in negotiations but Dembele, young, skilful and French, is the player PSG seemingly see as the most natural replacement for Neymar.

However, it seems that the 22-year-old is digging his heels in at Camp Nou and wants to make his time at Barca a success.

Benzia en route to Olympiacos


Lille's 24-year-old forward Yassine Benzia is on his way to Athens to join Olympiacos on loan, according to DZfoot.

The two-time Algeria international has been shown on a flight to the Greek capital, where he is set to confirm his second loan spell away from the Ligue 1 side.

Benzia, formerly one of the many 'next big things' of French football, spent last season with Fenerbahce but failed to find the net in 22 appearances for the Turkish giants.

Real Madrid's summer signing Luka Jovic could be set for an early exit from the Bernabeu as PSG try to sign him, claim Soccerlink.

The Ligue 1 champions are desperate for attacking reinforcements with their fabled front three in tatters. Neymar is set to re-sign for Barcelona, while Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani were injured in last weekend's victory over Lille.

PSG and Madrid have already been in negotiations for goalkeeper Keylor Navas, and it is thought the subject of Jovic could have been brought up.

Veltman extends Ajax deal


Ajax' 27-year-old defender Joel Veltman has signed a new deal, keeping him with the Eredivisie side until 2021.

Navas nears €18m PSG move


Keylor Navas' transfer from Real Madrid to PSG could be completed by the end of Thursday, according to El Chiringuito's Jose Luis Sanchez

The 32-year-old Costa Rica international could cost his new side as much as €18 million (£16.3m/$20m).

Barcelona have finally reached a deal to re-sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain, according to Sky Italy.

It is reported that an agreement has finally been found between the two clubs, with the Brazil forward set to put his signature to the move upon arrival in Barcelona.

Neymar left Barca two years ago after scoring more than 100 goals for the club, winning two league titles, three Copa del Rey trophies and the Champions League.

Pogba to shun fresh Man Utd deal


Paul Pogba will turn down any fresh offer of a new deal from Manchester United as he looks to find his way out of Old Trafford, says Marca.

The Frenchman was widely tipped to leave ahead of the off-season, but committed showings seemed to suggest he may remain with the Red Devils.

An upturn in racial discrimination against the midfielder however has only strengthened a resolve to exit the club, with Real Madrid his wanted destination.

Monaco make Bakayoko breakthrough


Monaco have made a breakthrough in talks with Chelsea for a loan move for Tiemoue Bakayoko, including a €35 million (£32m/$39m) option to buy.

Though the deal is not yet done, there is a sense that Bakayoko will soon be a Monaco player as talks continue between the various parties.

Chelsea were initially not keen to see the 25-year-old return to his former club, but they have since softened their stance as the September 2 European transfer deadline approaches.

PSG are facing a crisis up front with Neymar hoping to leave and Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe both injured.

Roma are still hopeful of bringing in either Dejan Lovren or Daniele Rugani, claim Tuttosport.

Lovren is a primary target, but it remains to be seen whether Liverpool would allow the Croatian to leave without being able to sign a replacement.

Negotiations for Juventus' Rugani, meanwhile, are reported to have stalled despite the 25-year-old having been pushed down the pecking order by Matthijs de Ligt.

Rakitic future could hinge on Neymar deal


Ivan Rakitic's future at Barcelona is in question with Juventus, Inter and PSG all vying for his signature, report Tuttosport.

While the Serie A pair are both keen, it is thought he could be used as a makeweight in the deal to take Neymar back to Camp Nou from Paris.

Fernando Llorente could provide Napoli with a more affordable alternative to Mauro Icardi, according to Sky Italy.

Icardi was expected to leave Inter this summer but with only days of the transfer window remaining, it seems more and more likely that he could remain at San Siro.

Llorente, who knows Serie A well after his time with Juventus, is currently a free agent after being released by Tottenham.

Smalling set for Roma loan


Manchester United defender Chris Smalling is set to leave the club to join Roma on loan, according to Sky journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

The season-long loan deal would cost the Serie A side €3 million (£2.7m/$3.3m).

The 29-year-old hasn't played for United yet this season following the signing of Harry Maguire from Leicester.

Simeone wanted Fernandes before Felix


Atletico Madrid manager was desperate to sign midfielder Bruno Fernandes this summer, according to Paulo Futre.

Speaking on CMTV, Futre claimed that manager Diego Simeone was a huge fan of the midfielder but, following the big-money signing of Joao Felix, a deal is now unlikely to go ahead.

The 24-year-old midfielder has a goal and four assists in his three league appearances for Sporting Lisbon so far this season.

Memphis wanted in Milan


AC Milan could turn to Lyon's Memphis Depay as they look to bolster their attacking options, according to Tuttosport.

The 25-year-old Dutch international could cost the Serie A side €40 million (£36.3m/$44.3m), after impressing in Ligue 1.

Depay has three goals and an assist in three league appearances already this season, after notching ten and ten last campaign.

Silva's lifestyle blocked Madrid move


Real Madrid passed on the chance to sign David Silva almost a decade ago due to concerns about the now-Manchester City star's lifestyle choices, per The Athletic.

Silva has been a key member of City's transformation from Premier League also-rans to European heavyweights, but almost headed to Los Blancos in 2010.

However the La Liga club saw their move wither after a study found that the Spaniard's drinking lifestyle would prove to be a problem for them.

The Croatia star has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, as one of several Barcelona players set to be offered in return for Neymar.

However, the 31-year-old is now being linked with a move to Turin instead.

Villa passed on Cahill due to age


Aston Villa passed on the chance to sign former Chelsea and England defender Gary Cahill because of the latter's advancing years, per The Athletic.

The Blues stalwart came through the academy system at Villa Park but moved to Crystal Palace this off-season instead.

Boss Dean Smith chose to not pursue Cahill due to both his age, at 33, and his wage packet.

PSG halt latest Barca bid for Neymar


Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly rejected Barcelona's cash-plus-players deal for Neymar, citing that the combined package falls below their estimated value, per RMC Sport.

The Blaugrana are widely tipped to be the club who will prise the Brazil international away, back to Camp Nou where he previously made his name.

However, the Ligue 1 outfit are hitting the brakes on Barca's latest offer since they feel that both the money and value of players offered does not match Neymar's price tag.

Isco poised for Madrid stay


Real Madrid midfielder Isco is fully expected to remain with Real Madrid for the 2019-20 campaign after rebuffing all offers over the off-season, says Marca.

The Spain international had been tipped to leave Santiago Bernabeu during Santiago Solari's tenure, due to a falling-out with the coach.

Franck Sale, one of the scouts who helped discover Paul Pogba, believes that the midfielder will have conflicts with any strong-willed manager he plays for. 

The French star has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, and Sale doesn't see a transfer to play for Zinedine Zidane​ helping him move away from his trouble. 

"If tomorrow he goes to a big club like a Real Madrid, he'll still have his conflicts even with Zizou (Zidane)," Sale told Optus Sport.

Rivaldo confident in Barca return for Neymar


Former Barcelona star Rivaldo doesn't see any way that Neymar ends up with Real Madrid, and is confident hsi fellow Brazilian will land with Barca this summer. 

The PSG ace has been linked with both of the Spanish giants, but seems set to move back to the Catalan club, and Rivaldo has backed the club to land their man. 

"I can't see Neymar signing for Real Madrid because the player wants to return to Barcelona and the club seems focused on making that a reality before the transfer deadline,” Rivaldo told Betfair

FC Dallas youngster chooses U.S. over Mexico


FC Dallas youth star Nicolas Carrera has decided to play for the United States instead of Mexico ahead of the U-17 World Cup. 

Carrera can play as either a defender or a midfielder, and told ESPN: "With this I've chosen to represent the U.S. at the youth level, especially now focusing on the World Cup. My main goal is just to be able to represent the U.S. at the World Cup that's in Brazil in two months time."
