The 29-year-old has revealed his eagerness to end a four-year absence from the Black Stars

Juventus ace Kwadwo Asamoah says he is in communication with Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah for an imminent return to the national outfit.

The playmaker has been away from the Black Stars since playing in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Uganda in September 2014, largely due to injury troubles.

Having regained full fitness ahead of last year's Africa Cup of Nations, he surprisingly turned down a call-up, opting to focus on his club career.

“I have been communicating with coach Kwasi Appiah of late,” Asamoah told Peace FM

"I have informed him of my imminent return.

"I wasn’t fit for sometime but thank God this season has been injury-free for me.

"Very soon, I will be donning the national colours."

Asamoah has represented Ghana at six tournaments comprising four Afcon events and two World Cup gatherings.

The utility man, who predominantly plays for Juventus at left-back or left-wing-back, made 19 appearances, involving 18 starts, for the Old Lady last season.

He also had two outings as the club reached the quarter-finals of the Uefa Champions League.
