The Porcupine Warriors manager has rejected suggestions that the Phobians' talisman can join his side next season

Kotoko coach Steve Polack has denied reports that he was scouting Hearts of Oak talisman Winful Cobbinah after arriving in Cape Coast to watch Ghana's games in the ongoing Wafu Cup of Nations.

The Englishman watched the Black Stars defeat Guinea 2-0 as well as the 2-0 loss to Nigeria in the final Group A game. Although, he admitted coming purposefully to scout for players ahead of next season, he insists Cobbinah is not part of his plans.

“I admit that Cobbinah is a very good player that every team will appreciate to have him but it is not true that I have recommended him to Kotoko management," Polack told Nhyira FM.

“He is a good player who, when played in his rightful position, he will give out the best he has under his sleeve but I have different ambitions.

“Although, I’m currently in Cape Coast to scout players to be added to my team for next season in the Ghana Premier League, I am not thinking about Cobbinah because he's not part of my plans. I have never suggested to the management of Kotoko that I need him for next season," he added.

In spite of Polack's claims, Kotoko's Twitter handle dropped a hint of making an official bid for the midfielder this week, likening it to how they managed to outsmart Hearts to sign their former star Charles Taylor, who was their best player in 2003.

Goal understands that Hearts top hierarchy are considering dragging Kotoko to Fifa for their conduct.
