Police FC coach Charles Omondi has blamed stage fright to their elimination from the FKF Shield.

The National Super League side had done well to qualify for the quarter-finals and had a chance of causing an upset considering the fact that Ingwe had many injuries.

“This is a match that we could have won; it is just that my players gave Leopards too much respect. You cannot do that against a team like Leopards.

“It is an opportunity that we have lost but definitely it is a lesson learnt. I believe we will come back stronger and better.”

Leopards, who are the defending champions, will play Sofapaka in the semis with Kariobangi Sharks facing Ulinzi Stars.

The winner of the competition will represent the nation in the Caf Confederations Cup.
