Katsina United’s Ashadi tags ABS tie important

Katsina United’s midfielder, Destiny Ashadi has stressed that their Sunday tie with ABS is very important to their topflight safety.

Ashadi has put in an impressive performance for the Chanji Boys in the midfield and his brilliant free kick strike against MFM is still being talked about almost a week after it was played but the player noted that all his efforts for the club will prove to be in futility if it is not able to keep them in the elite division at the end of the season.

“The game with ABS is very crucial to our season and we are targeting a home win to cement our position on the league table. We can’t afford to joke with the game knowing that a home win against them will take us a step higher than them in the race for premier league safety,” Ashadi told Goal.

“The goal against MFM is my best goal of the season till date and I hope to get more of that before the season ends. I will try to see if I can re-enact it against ABS. it was a shame we couldn’t pick a point in Lagos.

“ABS are not a pushover side based on the way they started the season. We must not underrate them at all. They are also fighting very hard for their safety and they will come all out thinking that they can get a good result.”

Katsina United are 13th on the league table with 41 points from 31 matches.
