The 31-year-old midfield maestro has revealed that most of his Amakhosi teammates want to play in the Caf Champions League

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande has stressed the importance of qualifying for the 2018 Caf Confederation Cup.

Amakhosi are currently placed fifth on the PSL table - five points behind third-placed Cape Town City, but the former have a game in hand.

Winning their last three matches could see Chiefs finish third if other results go their way. The Soweto giants would also qualify for the Confederation Cup.

“We want to compete in continental competition. So, the last three games are very important to us," Katsande was quoted on The Citizen.

Amakhosi will face Polokwane City away on Saturday, before taking on Platinum Stars and Bidvest Wits in their last two league matches this season.

"So we have to grind maximum points starting with the weekend’s game against Polokwane City,” the hard-tackling midfielder added.

Katsande captained Zimbabwe at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals in Gabon a few months ago, and he's now eager to play in the continent with Chiefs.

“Most of the guys want to play in the Champions league, and some of us have the experience because we were part of the Africa Cup of Nations, so finishing within the top-three in the league will be good for us," Katsande concluded.
