Kaizer Chiefs to play SuperSport United in Mbombela

Amakhosi and Matsatsantsa have already met three times this season, with each side winning one match apiece while the other match ended in a draw

The Stadium Management South Africa (SMSA) has announced a change of venue for the Kaizer Chiefs versus SuperSport United match on December 12, 2018.

The league encounter was scheduled to take place at the FNB Stadium as this is Amakhosi's home game.

However, the Calabash will not be in good condition on the said date after hosting three different events in recent weeks, and therefore forcing the Soweto giants to take their match to the Mbombela Stadium.

Kickoff for the Amakhosi v Matsatsantsa match is still at 19h30.

According to SMSA, football fans who have already purchased match tickets may return them to Computicket for a refund.

The Mbombela Stadium is SuperSport United's alternative home ground, and it remains to be seen if this change will have any psychological impact on both sets of players.

Amakhosi are currently placed seventh on the PSL log with 18 points from 14 games, and they need as many points as possible to mount a serious challenge to the league title.

They last won the PSL title in 2015 under Stuart Baxter, and the past three-and-a-half years have very difficult on everyone associated with the club, especially the fans who feel the management hasn't done enough to be on the same level with their rivals.
