The enigmatic Swede has defied his 35 years to become a talismanic figure at Old Trafford during his debut campaign in English football

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not the type to let an opportunity for self-promotion pass him by, and the Manchester United striker has been talking up his qualities once again.

While few questioned the Red Devils’ decision to snap up the enigmatic Swede as a free agent last summer, few expected him to make the impact he has.

At 35 years of age, the Swede is showing no sign of slowing down.

Mourinho: Ibra can go if he wants

He has netted 26 times in all competitions this season, including match-winning efforts in Community Shield and EFL Cup triumphs.

As a talismanic presence at Old Trafford, United have understandably expressed a desire to prolong his stay in English football.

Ibrahimovic has hinted that an agreement could be reached, with the prolific frontman eager to show the world that can be a real life Benjamin Button.

United will be without Ibrahimovic when they return to action after the international break with a home date against West Brom on Saturday, with their star striker set to serve the final instalment of a domestic suspension.

He will, however, be looking to add to his impressive goal haul before the season is out as Jose Mourinho’s side continue to chase down a top-four finish in the Premier League and Europa League glory.
