‘I’m not surprised’ – Henry Makinwa plays down ABS' form

ABS FC coach, Henry Makinwa says he is not surprised at his side's form in the Nigerian topflight.

The Saraki Boys were defeated 2-0 by Rivers United in their last league encounter, thus, making it six consecutive games without a win.

“Of course, when you don’t win in six games, it is not very good – that’s a very poor run. But if you look at the Nigerian factor- we have not lost at home and we drew against big teams like Enyimba," Makinwa told media.

“If you check the table among those that came from the second division, we are the best and still atop of them. Couple with the fact that we are a small team with young lads and with no big money.

“We gave hope to people when we started like we were going to win the league. But now what is happening will be a shock to everybody but I knew from the start that it may be like that this, so I’m not surprised," he concluded.

ABS face another tough test as they welcome Nasarawa United to the Kwara Stadium Complex in their next encounter on Sunday.
