Few minutes into the second half, Aminat Yusuf scored from the spot to put her side in front for the first time in the game, but Onyeka Okafor quickly responded for Sanya via penalty kick and the winning goal from Fabowale powered the girls from Surulere to the last four stage of the tournament.

And the youngster (Fabowale) claims they will go back and restrategise for their next game, saying they must avoid the mistakes that led them to concede two goals in the game.

“I’m very excited I got my side’s winning goal,” Fabowale told Goal.

“I wasn’t happy that we allowed them to score us, but we already made up our minds before the game that we were going to win, and we thank God we won.

“We are aware that our next match will be tougher than this, but we will ensure we train harder to come out better.

“Our aim is to lift this year’s edition of this tournament and by God’s grace we will emerge victorious.”
