Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat has refused to blame his teammates for mistakes that have cost the team this season.
The Zimbabwe international explained that winning and losing is shared by the team with Amakhosi having endured a poor season thus far.
“We are professional, we are never perfect, and I miss a lot of chances when I should help the team win, like in that Cape Town City game,” Billiat was quoted as saying by Vodacom Soccer.
Goalkeeper Virgil Vries and attacking midfielder Hendrick Ekstein have come under scrutiny in recent weeks after making individual mistakes.
Vries made two goalkeeping errors against Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City, while Ekstein has been guilty of giving away possession cheaply.
“I look at myself and ask, ‘How do I feel? What should I have done better?’ And the reality is that anything can happen to anyone," he continued.
"But we can’t blame that person because to be selected after putting in an effort, you’ve done something, you’ve worked hard, and we should give credit," he added.
The 2015/16 Premier Soccer League (PSL) Player of the Season explained that the team remains a united force.
“I’m sure everyone wants to fight for the club regardless of what happens in one particular game, and we’re positive about it. We’re one big family; we lose together, and we win together," he concluded.
Chiefs will travel to the Peter Mokaba Stadium where they are scheduled to face Polokwane City in a PSL match on Saturday.
