It took the Indian Ocean Islanders 46 years to qualify for their first Africa Cup of Nations, and the world reacted to the positive news

Congratulatory messages from the world of football are pouring in following Madagascar’s maiden qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Njiva Rakotoharimalala’s first-half effort handed Barea a 1-0 victory over Equatorial Guinea – a victory that ended their 46-year wait for an appearance in the biennial football showpiece.

With 10 points in Group A, Ahmad Ahmad’s country is assured of a place in Cameroon not minding the outcome of their remaining games.
