Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr has termed as having a new signing following the return of defender Karim Nizigiyamana.

The Burundian defender is making a comeback to K’Ogalo squad after a long injury lay-off. Nizigiyimana was handed a full start against Kakamega Homeboyz in a 3-1 win on Monday and coach Kerr is happy to have him back.

“How good it was to see him (Karim) back in the green colours. I am very happy for him after a tough career threatening injury and his smile alone after making the comeback is worth millions.

“He played for 75 minutes and did very well considering that it was his first start in nearly a year. His presence in the field was good for everyone, who supports the club,” the Briton coach told Goal in an interview.

Kerr has admitted that his players are very exhausted with the August fixtures and could welcome a postponement of their match against Chemelil Sugar.

"Please, let KPL realize we cannot play this amount of games week in week out. It is really affecting our performance.

"We are carrying Kenyan football for all of Africa to see but the importance of the game v Rayon and USM are paramount and yet we have 5 important games; 3 exceptionally important games in 14 days.

“We need to be serious with this. We lose, it’s the coach’s fault and yet we are doing everything we can to ensure players' physical and mental fitness is at the best level all the time."

The next assignment for Gor Mahia will be on Thursday against Chemelil, before tackling Rayon Sports in a Caf Confederations Cup tie on Sunday.
