The Desert Scorpions handler blames his side's injury woes on travel problems, insisting a better means of mobility would be a big plus for the team

Coach Manu Garba has appealed to the Gombe state governement for a luxury bus to ease the stress of long road trips this season.

Gombe United suffered their fourth successive defeat away this season crumbling 3-0 to El Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri.

And the disappointed tactician felt they could have done better if his side had no injury woes or fatigue.

"We have some players who are out due to injuries and part of it could be due to the stress on the road,” Garba told Goal.

"The distance is very far and the roads are not good. We don't have big luxury buses like Remo Stars and Kano Pillars which are very comfortable for traveling long distance.

“Most of the roads are in bad shape as well the stoppages on the road during the journeys at all checkpoints. Before we get to our match venues, the players are already stretched out.

“We must praise the efforts of players in all the teams who always travel very far and still manage to play the entire duration of the match.

“I hope the state government and private individuals will come to our aid by providing a bigger bus in order to reduce our travel stress.”

The Desert Scorpions are ninth on the Nigeria elite division log with 10 points from eight games.
