Ghana have announced a provisional 25-man party for the upcoming Fifa Under-17 World Cup in India.
The team departed Accra for the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday to finalize preparations for the tournament which runs between October 6 and 28.
Coach Samuel Paa Kwasi Fabin’s list comprises 16 players from the African championship roster and nine new members.
Wafa whizkid Mohammed Aminu, who has been linked to English side Manchester City, made the cut after missing the Afcon in May. So did teammate Richard Danso.
Right to Dream Academy duo Ibrahim Sadiq and Mohammed Kudus as well as Rudolf Blagogee, Evans Sarfo, Isaac Gyamfi and Emmanuel Antwi complete the new entrants.
Regrettably though, centre-back Faisal Osman, who played an influential role at the Afcon, has been forced out of the team due to injury picked up in training.
Ghana will be making a return to the under-17 World Cup for the first time since 2007.
The Black Starlets, who finished second at the Afcon, have been drawn in Group A alongside hosts India, Concacaf runners-up the USA and Colombia, who came fourth at the South American championship.
