Jimmy Cobblah says his team are primed for victory on Friday

Ghana coach Jimmy Cobblah is optimistic about their chances of coming away with a positive result when they face Algeria in the 2019 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying on Friday.

The Black Satellites are all but set for their first match of the series, having drawn a bye in the first round.

Home side Algeria beat Tunisia 5-2 on aggregate to come this far.

"When I am going into a game, I never think of a draw or loss because going into a game and you think of draw or loss, you will get one,” Cobblah told Oman FM.

"Every game, I strategize for a win and we have come here to score.

"If we don't score, we will [at least] have a point to go home with.

"As for losing, it's not in our prayers."

The winners over two legs set up a date with Gambia/Benin in the third and final round slated for July.

Seven teams are expected to join hosts Niger for the final championship.

The Black Satellite are hoping to make a return to the U-20 Afcon after failing to qualify for the last edition in 2017.

At their last appearance in Senegal in 2015, they finished third behind winners Nigeria and the hosts.

The 2019 tournament will serve as qualifiers for the Fifa Under-20 World Cup later next year.
