Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt is concerned by their inability to find the back of the net on a regular basis after yet another disappointing result at home to Ajax Cape Town.

“We are not scoring and it is affecting us badly. We have to work ourselves out of this situation. It’s crazy. I’m worried – everybody is worried,” Hunt told Daily Sun.

James Keene and Amr Gamal have been battling to score goals regularly, though the latter in his first full season in the PSL and he helped them to their first-ever Telkom Knockout title a week ago.

Wits have scored a paltry six goals from 12 outings, as they lie rock bottom and starring relegation in the face with only 10 points to their name.

“Where am I going to get a striker? It’s not like anyone is scoring goals in the PSL at the moment. But I’m thinking about it,” Hunt said.

Apart from their deplorable displays in front of goal, big name signings Steven Pienaar and Daylon Claasen have also not come to the party as yet.

Hunt hopes they do so in earnest in the club’s hour of need, admitting they are still finding their feet at the home of the champions.

“Apparently they are still fitting in, I don’t know how long it will take. But I hope it won’t be forever,” Hunt concluded.
