EXTRA TIME: Safa president Dr Danny Jordaan meets Winnie Mandela

Safa President Dr Danny Jordaan on Monday, 4 December paid a courtesy visit to the Mother of the Nation, Ms Winnie Madikizela-Mandela

Jordaan was reported to have checked on the anti-apartheid icon’s well-being, according to Safa media.

Ms Mandela looked in boisterous mood and shared some light moments with the SAFA President who was accompanied by SAFA NEC members Natasha Tsichlas, Willie Mooka and SAFA West Rand President, Pius Nqandela. She also took time to pose for pictures with the delegation and individuals.

Dr Jordaan told Ms Mandela that Banyana Banyana will play Sweden at Cape Town Stadium on 21 January 2018 as part of the Association and South Africa’s football fans’ celebration of her life and selfless contribution to the new dispensation.

“I will make it a point that I fully recover because I am excited at this gesture by SAFA,” said Ms Madikizela-Mandela.
