Ethiopia are hoping to build on from their victory over Sierra Leone when they take on Kenya’s Harambee Stars in an Afcon Qualifier on October 10th.
Walya Antelopes will host Stars, who are heading into the game with confidence after going past Ghana in the last game before confirming their new found form with another identical 1-0 victory over Malawi in an international friendly three days later.
The two sides will clash in Bahir Dar at a time when there are doubts that Ethiopia might not have the best form in the squad. But even Sebastien Migne might have to worry about match fitness due to lack of adequate preparation after Kenya hit camp just six days to the first leg encounter.
But Ethiopia captain Getaneh Kabede is pegging his hopes on the home advantage when they take on Stars at the Bahir Dar Stadium.
“The Ethiopian Cup took place between our two qualifiers meant that the players have different fitness level. This is the only problem at the moment. However, we hope the win against Sierra Leone will be a huge boost.
“Our goal is to win all of our home games. The fact that” Kabede was quoted by Soccer Ethiopia.
Both teams-Kenya, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone and Ghana all have three points after two rounds of matches and whoever will win the next round will have an upper hand going into the fourth round.
