CSKA Moscow Champions League 2018-19

Real Madrid are favourites heading into the clash in Russia despite being without four of their key players, and will be keen to tighten their grip on the top spot of Group G.

The Spanish giants have been backed to complete an incredible fourth successive Champions League win this year after being handed a relatively kind group, and will have experience and talent on their side when they travel to face CSKA Moscow.

Questions were raised about the team following Zinedine Zidane's departure as manager with Julen Lopetegui replacing him, but a resounding 3-0 win over Roma in the opening fixture of the Group G has quelled many of those doubts.

Real Madrid's start to their domestic season hasn't been quite as emphatic, however, as they sit second in La Liga but level on points with leaders Barcelona – despite registering just 14 points from seven games.

Los Blancos drew 0-0 against city rivals Atletico Madrid on Saturday which followed a shock 3-0 loss to Sevilla in midweek. Madrid have managed to score only six league goals so for this season – though Lopetegui has dismissed claims that they are missing the star power of Cristiano Ronaldo up front.
