Pape Souare is delighted after getting called up for Senegal's friendlies against Uzbekistan and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Aliou Cisse included the 27-year-old in the 30-man squad that will face the European sides in World Cup 2018 tune-up clashes billed for March.
The Teranga Lions will take on the White Wolves on March 23 in Casablanca, Morocco before facing Mehmed Bazdarevic’s men four days later in Le Havre, France.
The former Lille player was last invited to the national team set up in 2015 in a World Cup qualifying game against Madagascar but injuries sustained in a serious car accident in September 2016 meant he spent over a year on the sidelines.
Souare broke his thighbone and jaw in the crash but has returned to action following a successful rehabilitation process.
He has featured three times for Crystal Palace this season though is yet to make an English Premier League appearance. And the left-back has taken to the social media to express his feeling after receiving the invite.
“Delighted to be called up for the National Team,” Souare tweeted.
“It’s been a while since I have been able to represent my country, but I am back now and I cannot wait to get back on the pitch!”
