Cedric Bakambu extends league personal best in Beijing Guoan's victory

Cedric Bakambu scored a brace as Beijing Guoan defeated Guangzhou R&F 3-0 in Sunday's Chinese Super League encounter.

The 27-year-old started the party at the Yuexiushan Stadium in the 43rd minute as Roger Schmidt's men recorded their second successive win on the road.

Jonathan Vieira extended the visitors' lead in the 70th minute before Bakambu secured his double eight minutes later.

The former Villarreal talisman who arrived in China in January has now scored 16 goals in 20 league matches this term as he extends his highest goalscoring run in a single league season - which he achieved at Bursaspor in the 2014-15 campaign.

Bakambu is the second African top scorer in China after Nigeria's Odion Ighalo, second in the league's scorers' chart with 20 goals.

Beijing Guoan are placed fourth in the Chinese top-flight with 48 points from 25 games.
