The France-based player is recovering from a knee injury which ruled him out of crucial qualifiers against the Libya, Seychelles and Nigeria last year.
“My confidence level is picking up. But I’m not rushing. I will play when I feel fully fit and confident,” Zungu said on the Daily Sun.
According to reports coming out of Europe, the Nigel-born midfielder has returned to training with Amiens.
“Hopefully, I’ll be in great shape and in the Bafana team for the game against Libya," he added.
'We started well in the qualifiers and it would be good to win our last match and book our place in the final," he concluded.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns player was part of Baxter’s squad that secured a 2-0 win over Nigeria's Super Eagles in an Afcon qualifier two years ago.
Bafana Bafana will qualify for the Afcon finals if they avoid a defeat away to Libya next month.
