The attacker reflects on Sunday's Italian league fixture

Sassuolo ace Kevin-Prince Boateng believes AC Milan rightfully deserved three points in their Italian Serie A encounter on Sunday.

The Rossoneri proved simply too strong for the Neroverdi in the matchday seven fixture as they beat the hosts 4-1 at MAPEI Stadium - Citta del Tricolore.

A goal each by Franck Kessie and Samu Castillejo and Suso's double gave the visitors all three points, with Filip Djuricic netting Sassuolo's consolation.

"We actually started the game well. We did not control the game, but we were focused and were able to pose some threats," Boateng said, as quoted by Rai Sport.

"Milan then scored their first goal through a counter-attack attack.

"From then on, the situation turned around immediately and our game somehow became chaotic.

"Milan we have to admit played perfectly [in the game].

"If they play like this in every game, they can even win the league title."

Sassuolo have consequently fallen from third to fifth on the league table, with Milan moving to the 10th spot.

It was a memorable game for Boateng, who had two separate spells with the Rossoneri between 2010 and 2016.

The 31-year-old initially joined Milan on loan in 2010, staying on at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza until 2013 as the deal was later made permanent.

Following a troubling time with German club Schalke 04, he returned to the Rossoneri for a six-month stint in 2016.
