Bayern Munich vs AEK Athens: TV channel, live stream, squad news & preview

Group E is much closer than Bayern Munich would have hoped after matchday three, with the German champions trailing Ajax whilst Benfica are breathing down their necks.

Niko Kovac will welcome this fixture as at least one of Ajax or Benfica will drop points on Wednesday evening, while Bayern play against seemingly the worst team in the group.

AEK have lost every game so far in this Champions League campaign with the reverse fixture ending 2-0 to Bayern last month.

Match Preview

Robert Lewandowski Bayern 2018

Bayern Munich will be hoping to ascend to the top of Group E with a win on Wednesday night.

The German champions have a selection issue, though, as Kovac will have to decide whether to play a full-strength side in order to build up their goal difference, or they could opt to rest players as they look to catch upcoming weekend opponents Borussia Dortmund in the race for the Bundesliga title.

The Bavarians are currently four points off the pace in the Bundesliga after their slow start has left them in third place.

AEK are having domestic struggles of their own, sitting fifth in the Greek League, six points behind PAOK who are top.

Bayern have stumbled through Group E so far with unimpressive performances in all three games, but Kovac's side are back on home soil for the first time in the competition since labouring to a 1-1 draw with Ajax last month.

The last time these two sides met it ended 2-0 to Bayern in Greece, however, it was a brief lapse in concentration that cost AEK, with two goals in two minutes consigning them to defeat.
