Baroka sign former Maritzburg United goalkeeper Vries

Kgoloko Thobejane's side has bolstered their goalkeeping department with the acquisition of the Namibian shot-stopper

Baroka FC have confirmed the signing of former Maritzburg United goalkeeper Virgil Vries on a two-year deal.

His agent Jazzman Mahlakgane is pleased with the move, as the so-called 'smaller teams' are making prudent signings ahead of next season.

Vries joins Lewis Macha, Talent Chawapiwa, David Mathebula and Gift Motupa as the club’s new signings, making it their fifth acquisition in the current transfer window.

They are keen to avoid last season’s battle against the drop where they retained their top flight status by winning the promotion/relegation playoffs.

Club CEO Morgan Mammila has told the media that they are done in the market, unless they are good available players out there.
