Pierre-Francois Aubameyang hasn't agreed to coach Gabon

Gabon and Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has lashed out at Fegafoot for appointing his father Pierre-Francois as national team co-coach, allegedly before they reached an agreement with him.

Former Gabon captain Pierre-Francois was named as joint Panthers coach together with another former skipper Daniel Cousin. They were to replace Spanish coach Jose Antonio Camacho.

On Friday Aubameyang took to social media, expressing his anger about the appointments.

“You wondered why I have problems with you? Why I did not want to come and play for the national team? This is the proof again,” Aubameyang wrote on his official Instagram.

“You announce to the whole world about my father being appointed coach of the national team whereas you did not even have an agreement with him.

“The president of the federation called my dad and did not even care about his state of health, even though he is sick right now.

“To rush and give a press conference while my father told him he would give his answer the next day: negative (by the way).

“Without even giving him the choice, for example, to negotiate over his staff ... In short the day when the federation stops showing amateurism, the national team may then be able to move forward and find consistent results.”

Another Gabon captain Françols Amegasse was appointed general manager in the new set-up.
