Director Fred Pappoe reckons the 'Dade' Boys' poor performance in the topflight is not a making of the beleaguered coach

Under-fire Great Olympics coach Godwin Attram has received backing from club director Fred Pappoe as speculations over the trainer's future continue.

The newly-promoted side are yet to pick a win on the pitch in the Ghana Premier League, going into matchday eight this weekend.

The club have, however, benefitted from boardroom points from a protest against Bolga All Stars, lifting them from the bottom spot.

“Attram is not the issue, no one is to blame," Pappoe was quoted as saying by MyJoyOnline.

"We must resolve to solve the problems confronting the club. Our forwards need to put the ball at the back of the net. They must score.

"Our defence must also avoid letting in goals. We will ensure that Olympics stay in the league."

A player-coach, Attram has taken some stick for his insistence on taking to the pitch, amid the poor run of results.

“Attram’s decision to play and coach the club has no negative bearing on the team," Pappoe added.

"When we were playing in Division One, he was playing and managing the club and we won matches.

“He takes instructions from the assistant coach when he is playing. And there is no problem with that at all. They are professionals so they understand the structures."

Olympics face Medeama in their next game on Saturday.
