Arsenal star Aubameyang fined for speeding but escapes driving ban

Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been fined £1,250 for speeding in his £275,000 Lamborghini on Monday.

The Gabon international escaped up to 28 days driving ban by the North London’s Willesden magistrates court after being caught doing 99mph on the motorway.

According to reports, Aubameyang was further docked six points on his driving license but defendant Robert Morris pleaded 'sorry' on behalf of the 2015 African Footballer of the Year.

"He is very sorry he is in this position. He accepts he has no excuse," Morris said.

“He uses his car to attend training and matches.

“It is the top of the bracket but is not by any stretch of the imagination the worst case of speeding.”

Aubameyang fired the Gunners to their fourth successive Premier League win after pipping Everton 2-0 with his second league goal of the season on Sunday.

The former Borussia Dortmund star could make his eighth appearance in the 2018-19 season when Unai Emery's men battle London neighbours Brentford in Wednesday’s League Cup fourth round fixture.
