'And the Oscar goes to Neymar!' - Brazil star destroyed for acting against Mexico

The 26-year-old rolled around in agony after a second-half stamp from Miguel Layun, but appeared no worse for the wear later in the game

Neymar put in a stellar performance in Brazil's 2-0 win over Mexico on Monday , but his attacking contributions were far from the only talking point after the last-16 encounter.

Already under fire for some of his exaggerated reactions to contact at the World Cup , Neymar was again slated for his reaction to a stamp by Miguel Layun in the second half.

The Mexico defender did seem to know what he was doing when he stood on the Brazilian's ankle on the sideline, but Neymar's agonized rolling around suggested a significant injury.

Instead, the PSG man was able to continue and added an assist to his earlier goal to help send Brazil to the quarter-final.

Naturally, there was plenty of online reaction to Neymar's play-acting.

Brazil will take on either Belgium or Japan in the quarter-final on Friday.
