Less fancied teams showed that they can land a punch if they are taken for granted, after some of them emerged champions in their State Cup finals

Amanda FC are the champions of the 2019 Imo FA Cup after they defeated Heartland Comets 5-4 on penalties at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri after Sunday's match ended 1-1 at the end of regulation time.

It was the Heartland Feeder team that drew the first blood through Evans Iyoro, but Amanda fought back and were rewarded with the equaliser in the second half.

Amanda showed more precision during the shootout when they converted all five their kicks, while Heartland Comets scored four. Both teams will represent Imo at the 2019 Aiteo Cup.
