Ajax Cape Town have been found guilty for fielding Tendai Ndoro for the second half of the 2017/18 Premier Soccer League season.

Platinum Stars, Polokwane City and SuperSport United protested Ndoro's eligibility, and in a judgement delivered by the South African Football Association (Safa) on Tuesday morning, the Urban Warrior forfeited the three matches.

Safa has awarded Platinum Stars, Polokwane City and SuperSport United 3-0 wins over Ajax Cape Town, meaning the Mother City side is now relegated from the PSL as they have lost a whopping nine points.

Ajax are now sitting on 24 points, three behind Dikwena, who moved to 27 points after this judgement.

The Ikamva-based side was also fined R50 000 for each offence; something which they might not take lightly given that the team had already been preparing for their play-off game against Black Leopards on Wednesday.

The Urban Warriors could have lost more than just points from this Ndoro saga, but Orlando Pirates decided not to pursue the matter anymore after it became clear that they were never going to win the league.

The judgement also affects the top eight teams as Matsatsantsa, with the three points gained from the Ajax match, move to 39 points and in seventh position on the PSL log.

This means AmaZulu's excitement for a top eight finish is short-lived as they move down to ninth position with 38 points.

While the decision may seem final, the Ndoro saga appears likely to drag on for many months to come with Ajax having announced that they will file a court interdict to stop the promotion/relegation play-offs from taking place on Wednesday.
