AFC Leopards head coach Rodolfo Zapata has admitted his team will miss the services of defender Moses Mburu.

The left-back has been ruled out for the remainder of the season following a meniscus tear that saw him undergone a successful surgery on Monday.

Zapata says he could have loved to have everyone fit for the final weeks of the league, but that might not be possible as it stands.

"It is a blow for sure, Mburu is a player who gives us a different dimension when on the pitch. I expected him to be healed sooner but it seems fate had it the other way round.

"This is a critical time for any coach to have his players, all of them for that matter but it is not possible.

"We want to give our best and win the remaining matches, we can still finish second on the table if we get maximum points."

Leopards are currently placed third on the log with 48 points.
