Alonso: Bale, Ronaldo and Benzema are decisive

The former Liverpool midfielder says the los Blancos forwards have developed an excellent understanding and is looking forward to Sunday's Clasico

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has praised his team’s three main stars: Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale.

The trio have combined to net an incredible 50 of los Blancos' 77 league goals so far in the first season they’ve been together.

And Alonso says the Real front three fit well together as a partnership and often make the difference for the team.

“There’s no secret, they’re just good players that have an understanding with each other," he told AS. "They are decisive, they score many goals and provide a lot of assists,”

The midfielder is looking forward to Sunday’s match against his side’s fierce rivals Barcelona and is anticipating a fiery clash against Gerardo Martino’s men.

“They are great players, and they’ve spent many years playing together and know each other very well," he said of the weekend's opponents. Historically and traditionally they are very intense games and both of us are normally fighting for trophies.

“They are highly competitive and tense affairs and I always prepare in the same way because it’s the best way to go into games: visualizing a little of what could happen, thinking about what could go against you.”
