Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid has become the all-time top goalscorers in a single La Liga season, thanks to Sami Khedira's strike in a 2-1 win against Barcelona ¡n the Camp Nou Clasico on Saturday night.

The current side equaled the record mark of 107 goals set by John Toshack's title-winning team in 1989-90 in last weekend's 3-1 win over Sporting Gijon at the Santiago Bernabeu, but was unable to find the fourth as it piled forward in the closing minutes of that match.

That meant Madrid came into Saturday's Clasico match needing just a goal to surpass the class of '90, and it duly did so as Khedira netted from close range after 17 minutes. In the second half, Cristiano Ronadlo added to Madrid's total with the game-winning goal in the 78th minute.

Madrid moved seven points ahead of Barca in La Liga.
